Part-Time Advocate Supervisor

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a national organization with over 950 programs across the country. It is a volunteer powered network of committed people, from all walks of life, who advocate for abused and neglected children on their journey through the youth court system. The dedicated volunteers are recruited, trained and supervised by program staff to provide a voice for these children during court proceedings.

The Advocate Supervisor position requires an Associateโ€™s degree or 1-year experience in social services or related field and/or working with volunteers. Other requirements include strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, good telephone and office etiquette, ability to lead and supervise and computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office software.

The Advocate Supervisor provides professional staff support to CASA Volunteers, ensuring that children involved with the CASA program receive sound advocacy and early permanency planning. Under general supervision they will conduct and/or assist in the recruiting, training, screening, assigning and evaluation of volunteers. They will prepare official documents, case files and court reports and perform related work as required to ensure that the abused and neglected children receive quality advocacy in court. They will attend conferences, workshops and events as requested by program director, represent the program at public events.

The Advocate Supervisor reports directly to the Advocate Manager and/or the Director of Advocate Supervisors, who is responsible for his/her performance evaluations.

The position is 24 hours per week. The position requires some evening and weekend work assignments and will work with volunteers in Jackson, George and Greene County depending on need.

Compensation: This position pays a salary of $18,720/yr or $15/hr not to exceed 24 hours weekly. Pending increased need and funding, this position may be adjusted to full time for the next grant cycle which would increase salary and include benefits.
